The week is halfway over! Here’s a little workwear inspiration to get you through the next two days 🙂

This is what I imagine I would wear if I were a college professor–of course with a more sensible shoe in my handbag for backup 😉 I received a request for a look with pleats (I didn’t forget about you Katrina!) so here’s my take. I find pleats to be a little tricky as they can make you look wider and somewhat matronly if not worn correctly. On this BCBGMAXAZRIA dress (not available anymore but I love this one) the pleats fall perfectly at the drop waist and keeps the hips from looking huge. Side note:: I had a mini shopping spree at the BCBG Outlet store, so you will be seeing lots of looks from there in the near future.

Oh, and please ignore the messy desk–what can I say? I love books. LOL My shoes are by Steve Madden (here) and my accessories are from Saks (similar here and here).

Hope you liked the look! Don’t forget to follow on Twitter and Facebook to stay up on what’s new.

  1. That’s a nice dress! Can you do a look for a wedding with summer clothes? I am not finding the right pieces at any of the stores I am shopping at. I have a budget of 150.00 dollars and the wedding is in two weeks. Thanks in advance 🙂

  2. Pleats!!! Yay!! I was 95% sure you didnt forget about me!! I kept running into that issue with the pleats making me look very wide and wasnt sure how to rectify the fashion “ohnoshedidnt” situation! However I see now that in order to pull it off i need to choose longer pleated pieces to counterbalance my hippy wideness factor.

    Thanx, your chicness!!! ❤
